WOMEN'S FOOTBALL
Seniors (Premier) - 2.4.16 Def By Mt Evelyn 7.8.50
Reserves (Division 4) - 7.8.55 Def The Basin 4.3.27
Our super Saturday at South Belgrave started well with the SBL Wolves Reserves getting the chocolates against The Basin by 28 points. With two games remaining, they are still a chance of finals!
The Senior's game for the SL Wolves didn't start well, the girls allowing the Rovers to kick six goals to none in the first quarter. Whilst it was windy conditions favouring one end, our girls couldn't convert as free as Mt Evelyn's first quarter, with the damage already done, went down by 34 points.
Next week is an excellent opportunity to rebound against Vermont!
Goal Kickers: C. Bould, M. Southam
Best Players: B. Withers, G. Grimmer, B. Watson, T. Burn, P. McMaster, M. Fraser
MEN'S FOOTBALL
Seniors - 4.18.42 Def By Mulgrave 9.11.65
Reserves - 13.12.90 Def Mulgrave 6.6.42
U19.5 - 9.10.64 Def Mulgrave 9.9.63
Vets - 4.4.28 Def By Croydon North MLOC 19.18.132
Once again, Mulgrave was a better side on the day and came away with the win by 23-points. It was undoubtedly windy conditions, with scores pretty tight for the first half of the game, with our Seniors down by four points at halftime.
With six scoring shots to eight in the third, our boys couldn't find the big sticks allowing the Lions a 21-point lead at the final break.
The boys got going in the last but again failed to convert, with six behinds to Mulgrave's one goal and two behinds. Poor kicking is poor football and a good reminder to our senior side they need to be on at all times!
Goal Kickers: T. Smith 2, H. Morgan, D. Garner
Best Players: M. Garner, C. Black, J. Robertson, T. Withers
The Reserves had a great win over Mulgrave by 48 points. Our U19.5s had a close shave, holding onto victory against the Lions by one point! And our Vets battled hard against the Kangarams but couldn't get the job done.
NETBALL
South Belgrave 19 Def Nunawading 10
A great win by our netballers last Friday! The girls were strong from the start and didn't give the Lions a chance all game.
This week the girls have the Montrose Storm as their opponents, who sit just above them in fifth on the ladder, with three rounds left in their season!
