WOMEN'S FOOTBALL

Seniors (Premier) - 9.4.58 Def Ferntree Gully Eagles 2.5.17

Reserves (Division 4) - 15.24.114 Def Boronia 0.0.0

A big weekend for our Senior Women's football, with both sides recording victories. The Reserves kicked off the dew at home against Boronia and were too strong for the Hawks, romping home to a 114-point win!

Our Senior side was a class above Ferntree Gully in their match, defeating the Eagles by 41 points to get their fourth win of the season.

A great result all around!

MEN'S FOOTBALL

Seniors - 10.10.70 Def Ringwood 9.5.59

Reserves - 10.10.70 Def Ringwood 9.5.59

U19.5 - 10.10.70 Def Ringwood 9.5.59

Vets - 8.5.53 Def Upper Ferntree Gully 7.10.52

What a couple of weeks it has been for our Senior side playing 2nd and 3rd in the last two weeks, with 4th placed Boronia to come this round. And after a slower start compared to the Redbacks, our boys were finally able to reel in Ringwood to get over the line by 11 points.

The best quester was our third, kicking four majors to Ringwood's two to take a 1 point lead at the last break before controlling the last quarter to hold on for victory.

Goal Kickers: T. Smith 4, D. Garner 3, N. Keily, S. Brown, C. Black

Best Players: L. Odermatt, C. Peters, B. Hards, B. Connelly, C. Black, E. Triegaardt

The Reserve returned to the winner's list with a 20-point win and our U19.5s proved too strong for Ringwood, winning by 87-points.

Our Vets side played their last game of the season, and whilst they won't make the finals, their last game proved to be a finals-like atmosphere!

It was an even game for most of the match, with scores tied at halftime. Our boys pushed out to an 11-point lead at the last break and then withstood a scoring onslaught from the visitors to hold onto victory by one point!

A great game to finish the season.

NETBALL

South Belgrave 24 Def By Kilsyth 27

It was an epic game of netball last Friday night, with the game in the balance all night. With scores tied at 11 all at halftime, it was still anyone's game! Our girls broke out to a two-goal lead before Kilsyth scored a 10-goal to 5 last quarter to run away with the win!

This week the girls take on the Montrose Storm in their last game of the home and away season. Make sure you get to Oxley College to cheer on our Netball team!

The Eastern Ranges had a game to forget against a strong Greater Western Victorian Rebels side. Trailing at every break the Rebels were the better side for the day handing the Ranges a 33-point loss.

This Saturday the Ranges take on the Sandringham Dragons at home, to keep their finals hopes alive. The game starts at 11:00 am, at Box Hill City Oval.

Well done to all the SBFNC boys who played on the weekend.
