SENIORS - 10.11.71 Def Ringwood 7.11.53

In what were sensational football conditions on Saturday, our U19.5s took on the Basin in the second Semi-Final for the EFNL Division 2.

It has been a great battle between both sides throughout the season, and Saturday's game was no different.

In a tight game for the first three quarters, our boys were in front for the first two quarters with a five-point lead at quarter time and a four-point buffer at the main break.

In the third quarter, The Basin started to get more control with five scoring shots to our two. However, the Bears only held a five-point lead at the last break.

In the final quarter, The Basin step it up a notch to put on six goals to take the win and a spot in the Grand Final.

Our boys will now need to regroup this weekend when they take on Mulgrave in the Preliminary Final for a spot in the Grand Final.

The Basin: 0.2 1.6 2.11 8.13.61

South Belgrave: 1.1 2.4 2.6 2.7.19

A big test for our Senior side on Saturday against Ringwood. Both sides came to play with a spot on the line to secure a Grand Final berth and a week off.

Ringwood started the game with slightly better kicking at goal than our three behinds and held a seven-point lead at quarter time.

It all changed in the second quarter, where our boys found their groove, with eight scoring shots to the Redback's one. Although we were in front at halftime, our inaccuracy kept Ringwood in the game, with 15 points the margin at halftime.

The third quarter was our best in goals, kicking 4.3 to Ringwood's 3.4 and holding a 20-point lead at the last break.

In the last quarter, we were always able to keep in control of the game, putting on a further three goals to seal the win and place in the Grand Final on Sunday 11th at 2:15 pm.

NAB League

The Eastern Ranges took on the Calder Cannons last Saturday in the first week of finals action in the NAB League.

Both sides had the time to be in front in a see-sawing game with momentum. However, the Ranges inaccuracy in front of the goal cost them the win allowing the Cannons to progress to next week's finals.

Eastern Ranges: 3.3 3.5 5.13 8.15.63

Calder Cannons: 1.1 4.3 6.4 10.7.67

Well done to all the SBFNC boys who were part of the Eastern Ranges program this season. We are incredibly proud of your achievements.
