Welcome Round 1 of Season 2022 in the Eastern FNL

Presented by | Cormack Plumbing

Welcome back to Football & Netball at South Belgrave for 2022!

We are very excited to get this season underway! No doubt we will face some challenges again, however, we are hoping for a full season of local football and netball action!

The Netball gets our season going tonight at Fairhills against the Waverley Blues in Section 7 of the Bendigo Bank EFNL Netball Competition. With just one netball side this year, we look forward to a strong season from the girls on the court!

Saturday sees our Senior Men's Football sides kick off their 2022 campaign. The Firsts certainly has unfinished business from 2021, and seem to be the talk of the competition during the pre-season.

It will be a solid hitout against another up and coming side in Heathmont. The ledger was even with 1-1 against the Jets last year, the best game clearly in round 2 when we came from 22-points down at the last break, to win by 20 points!

With a few new recruits including former North Melbourne player, Taylor Garner will see our game rise to the next level!

Our Senior Women's side the SBL Wolves has been promoted to Premier Division in the offseason. No doubt this will be a huge challenge for the ladies, and we certainly have faith the side will rise to compete with the best clubs in the competition.

The Women's competition will commence Saturday 23rd April.

We are also having our Veteran's football side again. The league is yet to release the fixture for the season. There are usually only eight games a year, and for anyone over 35 and looking to have a kick in a family-friendly social environment, we urge you to get in touch with us.

Playing Friday nights under lights or Sunday afternoons is great fun for past players or people who have never played before, and looking to give football a go!

We will have the full spread on for this week's home game, so make sure you visit the BBQ tent or canteen for some of the best local football/netball cuisines around.

Memberships will also be available to purchase from the clubrooms as well, or you can purchase online from our shop.

We look forward to another exciting year (and hopefully less interrupted) of local football and netball.

Go South!
